Emily Hildebrand, born 1973 in Chicago Ill, USA, is a professional artist who lives and works in Zürich and Stäfa Switzerland.
‘My practice of artmaking is one of immersive empathy with the world around me. In order to create an artwork, I try to morph with the object of my interest for a moment so I can build the raw intimacy necessary to drop my ego and allow myself to become a conduit, allowing the artwork to come into being. My hope is that by doing this I can create empathetic moments to see as well as a mirror to be seen. This radical intimacy can be a lens through which we humans can learn to see ourselves as connected parts of the Earth rather than as private interests. ‘
